IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Springfield Falcons take to the road for the first time in 2012-2013 when they battle the Providence Bruins at the Dunkin Donuts Center at 7:05 p.m. The Falcons suffered their first defeat of the season against the Bruins last Saturday, falling 3-1 at the MassMutual Center. Nick Drazenovic's power-play goal proved to be Springfield's only tally of the contest, as Providence netminder Niklas Svedberg made 33 saves for the victory.

A GOOD START

One year after checking in 25th in the AHL with a 3.04 goals-against average, the Falcons are tied for the league lead with the Abbotsford Heat at 1.75 goals allowed per game. The seven goals permitted by Springfield and Abbotsford are the fewest by any team in the league.

PLAY IT AGAIN

The Bruins' Maxime Sauve's third-period tally on Saturday was put under video review by referee Jean-Philippe Sylvain and was confirmed to be a good goal. This marked the first time the Falcons were involved in a goal review since the AHL mandated the process during the offseason.

FALCONS RETURN HOME TO CLOSE OUT THE WEEKEND

Springfield returns to The Nest on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and stays home on Sunday to welcome the Portland Pirates to town at 3:00 p.m. Sunday's game is the Falcons' "Halloween Hockey Night." Fans are encouraged to showcase their Halloween apparel as Falcons in-arena host Kevin Johnson will give away prizes to fans wearing the best costumes throughout the game. After the game, fans are invited to stick around and skate on the MassMutual Center ice. Fans must bring their own skates to participate. Single-game tickets to see the Falcons in 2012-2013 can be purchased at the MassMutual Center Box Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through game time on Saturday home dates, and starting four hours prior to Sunday home contests. Fans can also purchase tickets by logging onto Ticketmaster.com.
