THROWBACK THURSDAY PRESENTED BY THE STUDENT PRINCE AND FORT RESTAURANT

Throwback Thursday presented by The Student Prince and Fort Restaurant - Trent Hunter

Before embarking on a long NHL career, Trent Hunter skated his rookie campaign of 2000-2001 with the Springfield Falcons. Hunter tied for fifth on the Falcons that season with 35 points and was fourth on the club with 18 goals as a 20-year-old.

Hunter played each of the next two years with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, leading the club in both seasons with 65 points (30g-35a) in 2001-2002 and 71 points (30g-41a) in 2002-2003.

A native of Red Deer, Alberta, Hunter would go on to play seven seasons with the New York Islanders from 2003 to 2011 before splitting last year with the eventual Stanley Cup-champion Los Angeles Kings and the Manchester Monarchs. He played with Sweden's Nykoping Hockey in the lockout season of 2004-2005, totaling 24 points (9g-6a) in 15 games.

In 497-career NHL contests, Hunter accumulated 101 goals and 135 assists for 236 points.
