Darcy Hordichuk's last AHL stop before sticking in the NHL was Springfield, where he played 22 games in 2002-2003. The left wing scored a goal and added three assists for four points while also posting 38 penalty minutes that year, as the Falcons reached the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
Hordichuk became a mainstay in the NHL after spending time with the Falcons. The 32-year-old enforcer has skated in 538 games with the Atlanta Thrashers, Phoenix Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators, Vancouver Canucks, and his current club, the Edmonton Oilers. He had his most productive NHL season in 2005-2006 with Nashville, registering career bests of seven goals, six assists, and 13 points while also garnering a personal mark of 163 penalty minutes. Hordichuk has 41 points (20g-21a) and 1,138 penalty minutes over parts of 11 NHL campaigns.
