AIR FORCE SWEARING-IN CEREMONY TO TAKE PLACE DURING SATURDAY'S FALCONS GAME
Springfield, Mass. - During the second intermission of Saturday's Springfield Falcons game against the Providence Bruins at the MassMutual Center, 50 Delayed Entry Program (DEP) members will be sworn into the United States Air Force.
The Air Force Delayed Entry Program is an Air Force program under which an individual may enlist in a Reserve or Inactive Component of the United States Air Force and specify a future reporting date for entry on active duty in the Active Component that would coincide with availability of training spaces and with personal milestones.
Tickets for the DEP members and their families were donated by George's Jewelers of Westfield, Hot Table, and Valley Machine Knife Corp.
The first 1,500 fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a free Falcons baseball hat. Fans can also win a free bicycle from Gus Coelho Auto Repair at 442 Holyoke St. in Ludlow as part of "Cycle Saturday." Additionally, select game-worn "Irish Night" jerseys will be auctioned off in the MassMutual Center concourse.
