Equipment Manager Ralph Calvanese has handled player’s equipment for every rookie and veteran that has laced up a pair of skates in Springfield, dating back to the 1974-75 season.
As Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon stated, “he’s the best in the business, and has meant so much for the players that have gone through Springfield, on their way to the National Hockey League, and our organization.”
And speaking about the N.H.L., Landon also mentioned that Calvanese has had numerous offers over the years to take his trade to the big show, but has made Springfield his home and the Falcons are happy about his decision. When asked what his highlights have been over the years, he notes the back to back Calder Cup Championships captured by the Springfield Indians in 1990 and 1991, and also notes the camaraderie with the players that has evolved over his 20-plus years with Springfield Hockey.
