The Springfield Falcons, AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Friday the addition of Broc Little to the 2013-14 roster, signing the third-year forward to a one-year, AHL contract.
Little spent the past two seasons abroad in Sweden, playing for Vasteras of Allsvenskan, the country’s second-highest league, in 2011-12 and for AIK of the elite Swedish Hockey League (SHL) in 2012-13. Both years, the 5-foot-9, 170-pound winger led his team in points, netting 66 points (35 goals, 31 assists) in 51 games for Vasteras and 46 points (16 goals, 30 assists) in 55 games for AIK. Little finished with the highest point total in the Allsvenskan in 2011-12 and the fifth-highest in the SHL last season.
Before his stint in Sweden, the Phoenix, Arizona native played four seasons at Yale University, totaling 142 points (72 goals, 70 assists) in 131 games.
